Mattering

I've recently been on an interesting journey...

It has been one that has revolutionized my way of thinking. The Holy Spirit has been my guide, and I have found treasure beyond any earthly wealth. For years I felt like I didn't matter, and shouldn't matter. I felt that it was somehow a righteous thing to think of myself as nothing while knowing that you and everyone else was something.

I believed erroneously that to matter to myself was selfish. The Lord took me to the most beautiful place I have ever been! He exposed the lies that I have believed all of my life and replaced it with His incredible truth.....I MATTER!

I matter to Him and I'm even supposed to matter to me!! He is absolutely head over heels in love with me. I knew that He loved me, but I did not know that He wanted me to love me too!! Often people believe one of two lies. The first is the one that I fell for - "I don't matter". The second is, "I'm the only one that matters". They are both missing balance.

True balance can only come when we incorporate the life of Jesus into our lives. He knew who He was, and never denied that He was the Son of God, yet He did not lord that over anyone, nor make them feel inferior. His service to others was complete because it was rooted in love. He was complete in the Father, lacking nothing. He wants me to be complete in Him, lacking nothing! I can love others better when I love myself and allow Him to show me what He thinks of me. His perspective is the only one we will ever need!!

So, hear heaven say to you, "You matter!"
