Last weekend at the "Jesus is Enough Retreat" held in the Cochrane-Temiskaming section God truly did the miraculous...
On the Saturday afternoon, we were beyond blessed to listen to two women (who are from a restricted access nation...let's call them Jane and Mary to protect their identities) share their incredible story about several orphanages in their home country who are filled with children in desperate situations. Jane and Mary have a God-given mandate to raise funds for these orphans and the women who serve there.
Before the Saturday afternoon session our Women's Connection director, Sue Keddy, felt God prompt her to raise an offering for these two women to assist them in providing for these orphanages. There were just over 60 women in the room and miraculously the offering raised was $2,340.55!! Can you just stop and say "Thank you Jesus"!? $2,340.55 was given in an impromptu offering?! The presence of God was almost tangible in the room!
What Mary and Jane had not mentioned was that they had been contacted late last week by one of the orphanages about a young boy named Petya, who was in need of a new set of prosthetic legs.
This picture below is a picture of Petya about 5 years ago. He was missing a leg and had no arms when he was brought to the orphanage....
God provided a new set of legs for this young boy. However, he had outgrown them as you can see in the picture below...
You can see that his knee on the right side of the picture was higher than the one on his prosthetic leg. The orphanage did not have the funds needed to provide Petya with a new set of legs so they asked their friends, Jane and Mary, if they could fund raise for this cause. Jane and Mary did not have the money needed to pay for new prosthetic legs and are shy to ask for money. But on Saturday, God moved in the hearts of a group of 60 women and now Petya is getting his new legs!
Thank you to all of you who gave so generously last weekend, and thank you God, for being so loving and compassionate that you would compel a group of women who are an ocean away from Petya, in Northern Ontario, to give so generously, not even knowing where their money was going.
Amazing.

THIS IS AMAZING! So proud of our incredible "Sisters" up North!
